Video of the Week - Great Ads used to market Controversial Products

Controversy in advertising can make or break a brand. Some controversial ads result is serious backlash and an ultimate reduction in sales. Others, such as the BBDO's 'Social Farter' public service announcement can raise lots of awareness but still not be effective.
Following are some of the ads that made it and others that never did.

Ads that Didn't Work

A good example is the Poise micro-liners ad below:




Others result in total chaos, such as the dark Hyundai UK and the racist Just for Feet Superbowl ads:

The best example of a commercial that had the desired effect is the PooPourri commercial:
